Jimmy was born in Lurgan, County Armagh, Ireland, and has been involved in music all his life, becoming a highly respected session musician all over Ireland.
In 1982 Jimmy immigrated to Australia, quickly establishing himself in the Irish music scene, where his rich voice and entertaining style have made him sought after in venues all over Australia. In early 1992 he formed the very successful Sydney-based group Claddagh. The rest, as they say, is history. through his drive and stage presence Jimmy Moore has become one of the most recognisable icons in the Australian Irish music scene.
Leon Delander Bass, Vocals
Leon hails from Gunnedah, NSW, and joined Jimmy Moore for the second time after an abstance of 10 years. Leon is highly regarded amongst his peers to be one of the finest Bass players in the country and the members of Claddagh would not disagree with that. Before joining Claddagh, Leon played with several other Irish bands. He possesses considerable music expertise and an innate ability to create sensitive arrangements.
Jimmy Closs Bodhran, Road Manager
Jimmy hails from Glasgow, bonny Scotland, and started with the band as road manager, but over the years Jimmy took a liking to the Irish drum, the bodhran. And the members of the band reckon he sneaked onto the stage to play the drum, and forgot how to get off again. He is now the only sitting member, great fun.
